Jeremy Schwarz
Co-founder & Chairman
In addition to serving on the board of the Economic Club of Miami, Jeremy Schwarz serves as the Managing director at FTI Consulting, covering Miami, Florida, and the greater Americas region. Previously, he served as chief of staff and general counsel for the Mayor of Miami. He earned his JD from Harvard Law School and PhD from Cambridge University.

Jon Hartley
Co-Founder & Founding Chairman
In addition to serving as board chairman, Jon Hartley is an Economics PhD student at Stanford University and is a Research Fellow at the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity. Previously, he worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in both client portfolio management and risk management roles. He has also served in various governmental roles at the World Bank, the US Congress Joint Economic Committee, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Jon has also been a regular economics contributor for Forbes and The Huffington Post and has had other writings appear in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today among many other outlets. Jon has also appeared on CNBC, Fox Business, Fox News and Bloomberg and was named to the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Law & Policy list, the 2017 Wharton 40 Under 40 list and is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.



Alex Binelo
Board Director
Alex Binelo, CPA is a Partner at De la Hoz, Perez & Barbeito, CPA, where he leads the firm’s healthcare audit and assurance practice. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in HMOs, MSOs, diagnostic centers, DME companies, and nonprofit organizations, as well as clients in retail and manufacturing. He is recognized for his expertise in mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, and strategic financial guidance. Prior to joining DPB, he was an equity partner at BDO USA and MBAF.
Alex has held several leadership roles in the community, including Treasurer of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of Zoo Miami, Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Finance Committee for United Way of Miami-Dade, and member of the FIU Dean’s Council. He has an M.S. in Taxation and a B.A. in Accounting from Florida International University.
Jeb Bush, Jr.
Co-founder & Board Director
Jeb Bush Jr. is a Founding Partner of Finback Investment Partners. Since 2017, Finback has invested $700 million alongside premier private equity firms in 23 businesses. He has spent the last 15 years of his professional career in management consulting and advising companies on business development and strategy. He is also on the board of Lumina Analytics, an AI-enabled technology platform and The Salty Donut.
His nonprofit experience includes the Barbara Bush Family Literacy Foundation, National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, and KIPP Miami Public Schools. He holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.A. from Florida International University.


Carmen Manrara Cartaya
Board Director
As a partner at Continental PLLC, Carmen Manrara Cartaya is an experienced trial attorney who focuses her practices on employment matters, commercial litigation, and international arbitration. She also leads the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group representing both employees and employers. Previously, she served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, securing multimillion-dollar settlements in landmark discrimination cases. Carmen also practiced at Hogan Lovells and clerked for the Honorable Federico A. Moreno of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Outside the office, Carmen serves as Chair of the Alumnae Networking Committee of her alma mater, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. She also serves on the board of directors of The Underline Conservancy, contributing to the mission of supporting Miami’s 10-mile urban park beneath the Miami Metrorail. Carmen also serves in a judicial capacity as a hearing magistrate for the City of Coral Gables’ code enforcement violations.
Carmen earned her B.A. from Boston College, Phi Beta Kappa, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
